MIKE WOLFSON
"In my years practicing in the Boston area I am proudest of the work I have done building affordable housing and finding ways to integrate design into even the most cost conscious project."
WHY ARE YOU AN ARCHITECT?
Because in college I would fall asleep reading for my history courses but could stay up all night drawing.
Mike has over 20 years of professional experience in affordable housing, residential, institutional and historic preservation architecture. He has led many projects from initial Capital Needs Assessment Studies through Design and Construction Administration. He also has intimate, first-hand knowledge of the funding cycles and application processes associated with affordable housing in Massachusetts.
He is currently on the MetroWest Collaborative Developers Planning and Development Committee.
In addition to leading the design efforts of Meander Studio, Mike is the Director of the Distance M.Arch Thesis program at the Boston Architectural College. His teaching encompasses a wide range of architectural studio levels, most recently focused on the thesis curriculum of Graduate Research and Writing, Thesis Prep, Thesis 1 and Thesis 2. He has held a number of Chair positions, including Education Directors Committee and Curriculum Committee. He was Co-Curator for the Change Order Exhibit, which ran concurrent with the Change Order Conference, held in Fall 2011.
In various firms Mike also has experience working on Public Schools, Historic Preservation, Corporate Interiors and Retail Banking.
Mike holds an M.Arch from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.
