WHY ARE YOU AN ARCHITECT?
When I was young, my dad told me that if I found a job I loved I would never work a day in my life. Architecture is that job for me; the balance of creative and technical challenges, with the knowledge that my efforts have the potential to improve the lives of those who inhabit well-designed buildings, leaves me looking forward to each new opportunity.
I first began my collaboration with Meander Studio in the spring of 2015 followed not long after by the completion of my Master of Architecture degree from Roger Williams University in the fall of 2015. In my time at RWU I collaborated with Julian Bonder on a competition entry for a memorial space in Warsaw, Poland, earned a job with Vision 3 Architects where I had my first experience of life in an architecture firm, and held on-campus positions as a Resident Assistant and Building Manager. These opportunities allowed me to develop myself as both an architect and a leader before entering the professional world. Through rigorous academic dedication I was able to earn myself membership to the Alpha Chi and Tau Sigma Delta Honor Societies along with being awarded the AIA Henry Adams Medal upon the completion of my degree.
When I’m not working, you can find me running, playing tennis, practicing martial arts, or reading a book in a nearby park. My work with Meander has given me the opportunity to gain priceless experience within the realms of residential architecture and affordable housing; fields that I don’t always have the opportunity to work in during my day-to-day life.
